1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Mechanistar Automotives ("Mechanistar", "we", "us"). By downloading the Mechanistar app, creating an account, or using the website mechanistar.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms apply to all three user categories:
Customers Vehicle owners booking services or buying parts.
Mechanics Verified mechanic partners.
Sellers Spare-parts retailers and distributors.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law.
- Mechanics and sellers must successfully complete KYC verification before going live on the platform.
- Mechanistar reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any account at its sole discretion.
3. Account Registration
Customers
Sign up using your mobile number and OTP. You are responsible for the accuracy of your vehicle, address, and payment information.
Mechanics
Complete mobile OTP login, submit work details, specialization, KYC selfie, and required documents. You will go live only after Mechanistar approves your KYC.
Sellers
Complete mobile OTP login, business setup, and upload required documents (GST, PAN, Aadhaar, business address proof). Listings go live only after document verification.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. Any activity on your account is your responsibility.
4. Services Offered
- Doorstep mechanic services in Ahmedabad and expanding cities — repairs, maintenance, breakdowns, SOS.
- Auto Store — listing and delivery of genuine OEM/OES spare parts & accessories across India through verified sellers.
- Partner program for verified mechanics and sellers to earn through the platform.
Mechanistar acts as a technology platform that connects customers with independent mechanics and sellers. Mechanistar does not employ mechanics or stock seller inventory.
5. Bookings & Orders
Customers
- You may book instant or scheduled services. Estimated price is shown before confirmation.
- Final cost may vary if additional work is required, with your prior approval.
- An OTP must be shared with the mechanic at the time of service start.
- For shop orders, you receive a confirmation and tracking information.
Mechanics
- Accepting a booking obligates you to reach the customer location and complete the service professionally.
- You must collect the customer's start-OTP before beginning work.
- Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in suspension.
Sellers
- Listings must show accurate product information, compatibility, condition, and warranty.
- Orders must be dispatched within the time window agreed during onboarding.
- Counterfeit or substandard products are strictly prohibited.
6. Payments, Fees & Commission
- Customer payments are processed securely via Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking) or as cash-on-service where enabled.
- Seller commission: Mechanistar charges a flat platform fee of 5% on each completed sale. Sellers receive 95% of the sale price.
- Mechanic commission: Mechanistar's platform fee on mechanic services is communicated during onboarding and shown transparently in your in-app earnings.
- Payouts to mechanic and seller bank accounts are processed on a weekly cycle, subject to compliance with these Terms.
- All amounts are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
7. User Responsibilities
Customers
- Provide accurate vehicle and location details.
- Be present at the service location at the scheduled time.
- Pay for services rendered and parts purchased within agreed timelines.
- Treat partners with respect.
Mechanics
- Carry valid identification and tools while serving customers.
- Comply with all applicable laws, traffic regulations, and safety norms.
- Maintain professional conduct and customer privacy.
- Do not solicit off-platform payments or bookings.
Sellers
- Maintain accurate inventory and dispatch on time.
- Handle returns and warranty claims as per policy.
- Comply with GST and other tax obligations.
8. Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Misrepresent identity, credentials, or business information.
- Solicit customers/mechanics/sellers off-platform.
- List counterfeit, recalled, or hazardous products.
- Reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Platform.
- Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
- Post false reviews or manipulate ratings.
9. Intellectual Property
The Mechanistar name, logo, app, website, and all original content are the exclusive intellectual property of Mechanistar Automotives. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Mechanistar is a technology platform. While we verify our partners through KYC and ratings, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, or quality of work performed by independent mechanics or products supplied by independent sellers.
The Platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mechanistar's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount actually paid by you in the 6 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app. Mechanistar may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, repeated cancellations, low ratings, or any conduct harmful to the Platform or its users.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes amicably by writing to support@mechanistar.com within 30 days of the cause arising.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
